App Store Fraud, App Review, and the Age of DIY Software
Scammy and fraudulent App Store apps have been a fixture since the dawn of the distribution model. Some of them, like I Am Rich, were up front about what was going on. Others use aggressive and often misleading means to get users to sign up for outrageously expensive weekly subscriptions hoping you won't notice. Possibly the most insidious strategy, now, is the smoothly designed app that ends up being at best AI slop and at worst an AI Trojan horse. That's where the recent discussion of TabControl has entered the picture.
