Terms of Service
Last Updated: June 18, 2026

Welcome to The Mac Genie LLC. These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the website located at https://themacgenie.com (the "Website"), and all services, products, content, and features offered by The Mac Genie LLC (collectively, the "Services").

When you access or use our Website or Services, you're agreeing to these Terms. This creates a binding legal agreement between you (the "User" or "you") and The Mac Genie LLC. If you don't agree with any part of these Terms, then you shouldn't use our Website or Services. It's that simple.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using the Website or any Services provided by The Mac Genie LLC, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. This includes any additional terms and conditions or policies referenced herein or made available by hyperlink. We might update these Terms from time to time, and your continued use means you accept those changes too. So, check back occasionally.

2. Changes to These Terms

The Mac Genie LLC reserves the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time, in our sole discretion. If a revision is material, we will try to provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a "material change" will be determined at our sole discretion. We'll usually do this by posting the updated Terms on the Website or sending an email to registered Users. Your continued use of the Website or Services after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms. If you don't agree to the new Terms, you must stop using the Website and Services.

3. Account Registration and Security

To access certain features of our Services, like posting comments, making purchases, or managing subscriptions, you might need to create an account with The Mac Genie LLC. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, or have the explicit consent of a parent or legal guardian if you are between 13 and 18 years old (see Section 9 for more on children's access).

3.1. Account Information
When you register, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information. You also agree to update this information promptly if it changes. We rely on this information to provide you with our Services, so keeping it current is important.

3.2. Account Security
You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account password and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify The Mac Genie LLC immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security. We can't be held liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with these obligations. Don't share your password. It's that simple.

4. User-Generated Content (UGC)

Our Website allows you to post comments, submit reviews, upload files, and engage in other activities that generate content (collectively, "User-Generated Content" or "UGC"). This might include your thoughts on a Mac repair guide, a review of a product you bought, or a question in a forum.

4.1. Ownership and License
You retain all ownership rights in your UGC. However, by making your UGC available on or through the Website, you grant The Mac Genie LLC a worldwide, non-exclusive, transferable, sublicensable, royalty-free license to use, copy, modify, create derivative works based upon, distribute, publicly display, publicly perform, and otherwise exploit your UGC in connection with operating and providing the Website and Services. This means if you post a helpful tip, we can share it, adapt it, or use it to improve our Services. And that matters because it helps us build a better community and resource.

4.2. Responsibility for UGC
You are solely responsible for your UGC. You represent and warrant that you own all rights in your UGC or have the necessary rights to grant us the license described above. You also warrant that your UGC, and our use of it, will not infringe, misappropriate, or violate a third party's intellectual property rights, or rights of publicity or privacy, or result in the violation of any applicable law or regulation.

4.3. Prohibited Content
You agree not to post, upload, publish, submit, or transmit any UGC that: (i) is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, invasive of another's privacy, hateful, or racially, ethnically, or otherwise objectionable; (ii) infringes any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, or other proprietary rights of any party; (iii) contains software viruses or any other computer code, files, or programs designed to interrupt, destroy, or limit the functionality of any computer software or hardware or telecommunications equipment; (iv) impersonates any person or entity; or (v) is false, misleading, or deceptive. We don't tolerate that kind of content on our site.

4.4. Content Moderation
The Mac Genie LLC has the right, but not the obligation, to monitor, edit, or remove any UGC at any time and without notice, for any reason or no reason. We can also remove or disable access to any UGC if we believe it violates these Terms. This means if you post something inappropriate, we can take it down. We're not responsible for any UGC, but we will act if we see issues.

5. Payments, Billing, and Subscriptions

The Mac Genie LLC offers various products and services for purchase, including physical goods, digital products, and subscription plans. We process payments through third-party payment processors like Stripe and PayPal. When you make a purchase, you're agreeing to their terms as well.

5.1. Pricing and Payment
All prices for products and Services are listed on the Website. Prices are subject to change without notice, but changes will not affect orders already placed. You agree to pay all charges at the prices then in effect for your purchases, and you authorize us to charge your chosen payment method (e.g., credit card, PayPal account) for such amounts. You are responsible for any applicable taxes.

5.2. Subscription Services and Recurring Billing
Some of our Services are offered on a subscription basis (e.g., access to premium content or ongoing support plans). These subscriptions involve recurring billing. By signing up for a subscription, you authorize The Mac Genie LLC to charge your payment method on a recurring basis (e.g., monthly or annually) until you cancel. This means your subscription will automatically renew unless you turn off auto-renewal or cancel it.

5.3. Automatic Renewal
Unless you cancel your subscription before the end of the current billing period, your subscription will automatically renew, and you authorize us to charge your payment method for the next billing cycle. We'll typically send you a reminder before renewal, but it's your responsibility to manage your subscription.

5.4. Cancellation
You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings on the Website or by contacting us at [email protected]. If you cancel, your subscription benefits will continue until the end of your current billing period, and you will not be charged for subsequent periods. We generally don't offer refunds for partial subscription periods. For example, if you cancel halfway through a monthly subscription, you'll still have access until the end of that month, but won't be charged for the next month.

5.5. Refunds
Refund policies for subscriptions and other purchases are detailed on the relevant product or service pages. Generally, all sales are final, but we may offer refunds in specific circumstances (e.g., if a digital product is defective or a physical item arrives damaged). Contact us if you have an issue.

6. E-commerce Store Terms

The Mac Genie LLC operates an e-commerce store on the Website, selling both physical and digital goods related to Mac repair, accessories, and software. Here's what you need to know about buying from us.

6.1. Product Descriptions
We try to be as accurate as possible with our product descriptions, images, and pricing. However, we don't guarantee that all information is error-free, complete, or current. If a product offered by The Mac Genie LLC isn't as described, your sole remedy is to return it in unused condition (for physical goods) or request a refund (for digital goods) as per our refund policy.

6.2. Pricing and Availability
All prices are in U.S. Dollars. We reserve the right to change prices at any time. Product availability is subject to change without notice. We may limit the quantity of items purchased per person or per order. If an item becomes unavailable after you've ordered it, we'll notify you and offer a refund or alternative.

6.3. Order Acceptance and Shipping (Physical Goods)
Your receipt of an electronic or other form of order confirmation does not signify our acceptance of your order, nor does it constitute confirmation of our offer to sell. We reserve the right at any time after receipt of your order to accept or decline your order for any reason. For physical goods, we will ship to the address you provide. Shipping costs and estimated delivery times will be displayed at checkout. Risk of loss and title for items purchased from The Mac Genie LLC pass to you upon our delivery to the carrier.

6.4. Digital Goods
For digital goods (e.g., software licenses, e-books, downloadable guides), access is typically granted immediately upon successful payment. You are responsible for ensuring your device meets any minimum system requirements. Digital goods are generally non-refundable once accessed or downloaded, unless otherwise stated or required by law.

6.5. Returns and Exchanges (Physical Goods)
Our return policy for physical goods is outlined on the Website. Generally, you may return most new, unopened items within a specified period for a full refund. You are responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is a result of our error (e.g., you received an incorrect or defective item). This means if you order the wrong cable, you'll pay to send it back.

7. AI-Generated Content

The Mac Genie LLC may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to generate content, such as articles, product descriptions, or responses within our support system. This helps us provide information and services efficiently.

7.1. Disclaimer of Accuracy
While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or omissions. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any AI-generated content. You should not rely solely on AI-generated content for critical decisions, especially those involving technical repairs or purchases. Always cross-reference information and use your own judgment. For example, an AI-generated troubleshooting step might be a good starting point, but it shouldn't replace professional advice or careful verification.

7.2. No Guarantee of Originality
AI-generated content may, by its nature, draw from vast datasets and may inadvertently produce content similar to existing works. The Mac Genie LLC does not guarantee the originality of AI-generated content and disclaims any liability for potential copyright infringement or other intellectual property claims arising from such content. We do our best to ensure our AI tools are used responsibly, but the technology has limitations.

7.3. User Responsibility
If you use or rely on AI-generated content from our Website, you do so at your own risk. You are responsible for verifying the information and ensuring its suitability for your specific needs. This means if an AI suggests a repair, you're still responsible for making sure it's the right repair for your device.

8. Intellectual Property Rights

All content on the Website, including text, graphics, logos, images, software, and the compilation thereof, is the property of The Mac Genie LLC or its suppliers and protected by U.S. and international copyright laws. This includes our branding, our unique guides, and the overall look and feel of https://themacgenie.com.

8.1. Our Content
You may not modify, publish, transmit, reverse engineer, participate in the transfer or sale, create derivative works, or in any way exploit any of the content, in whole or in part, found on the Website, except as expressly authorized by The Mac Genie LLC. Your use of the Website does not grant you any ownership rights to any content.

8.2. Trademarks
The The Mac Genie LLC name, the The Mac Genie LLC logo, and all related names, logos, product and service names, designs, and slogans are trademarks of The Mac Genie LLC or its affiliates or licensors. You must not use such marks without the prior written permission of The Mac Genie LLC.

9. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)

The Mac Genie LLC is committed to protecting the privacy of children. Our Website and Services are not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not provide any personal information on our Website.

9.1. Age Restriction
If you are under 13, you are not permitted to use the Website or Services, create an account, or submit any personal information to The Mac Genie LLC. This is a strict rule we follow to comply with COPPA.

9.2. Users Between 13 and 18
If you are between 13 and 18 years of age, you may use the Website and Services only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian. Your parent or guardian must agree to these Terms on your behalf. They will be responsible for your actions on the Website. This means if you're a teenager wanting to learn about Mac repair, your parents need to be on board.

9.3. Parental Consent for Account Creation
If a child between 13 and 18 wishes to create an account, we may require verifiable parental consent. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe we might have any information from or about a child under 13, please contact us at [email protected].

10. Marketing Communications

When you create an account, make a purchase, or sign up for our newsletter on https://themacgenie.com, you may opt-in to receive marketing emails and newsletters from The Mac Genie LLC. These communications might include updates about our Services, new products, special offers, or helpful Mac tips.

10.1. Opt-Out
You can opt-out of receiving marketing emails from us at any time by following the unsubscribe link provided in those emails. Even if you opt-out of marketing communications, we may still send you non-promotional emails, such as those about your account, purchases, or ongoing subscription services. This means you'll still get important notifications, but not marketing pitches.

11. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

Your use of the Website and Services is at your sole risk. We provide everything "as is" and "as available."

11.1. Disclaimers
The Mac Genie LLC makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the Website or Services, including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or course of performance. We do not warrant that the Website will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that the Website or the server that makes it available are free of viruses or other harmful components. For example, while we strive for accurate repair guides, we can't guarantee that every piece of advice will work perfectly for every unique Mac issue.

11.2. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall The Mac Genie LLC, its affiliates, directors, employees, agents, suppliers, or licensors be liable for any indirect, punitive, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, including without limitation damages for loss of profits, goodwill, use, data, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to your access to or use of, or inability to access or use, the Website or Services. This includes damages resulting from errors, omissions, interruptions, deletion of files or email, defects, viruses, delays in operation or transmission, or any failure of performance, whether or not resulting from acts of God, communications failure, theft, destruction, or unauthorized access to The Mac Genie LLC's records, programs, or services.

In no event shall The Mac Genie LLC's total liability to you for all damages, losses, and causes of action (whether in contract, tort, including but not limited to negligence, or otherwise) exceed the amount paid by you, if any, for accessing the Website or using the Services during the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the date of the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless The Mac Genie LLC, its affiliates, licensors, and service providers, and its and their respective officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, licensors, suppliers, successors, and assigns from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to your violation of these Terms or your use of the Website or Services, including, but not limited to, your UGC, any use of the Website's content, Services, and products other than as expressly authorized in these Terms, or your use of any information obtained from the Website. This means if your actions cause us legal trouble, you're on the hook for it.

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. This means U.S. law applies to our agreement.

13.1. Informal Resolution
We want to address your concerns without needing a formal legal case. Before filing a claim against The Mac Genie LLC, you agree to try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us at [email protected]. We'll do our best to resolve the issue quickly.

13.2. Binding Arbitration
Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the breach, termination, enforcement, interpretation, or validity thereof, including the determination of the scope or applicability of this agreement to arbitrate, shall be determined by arbitration in the United States. The arbitration shall be administered by a mutually agreed-upon arbitration service, in accordance with its rules. The judgment on the award rendered by the arbitrator(s) may be entered in any court having jurisdiction thereof. This means we agree to resolve disputes through arbitration, not court litigation.

14. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and bar access to the Services immediately, without prior notice or liability, under our sole discretion, for any reason whatsoever and without limitation, including but not limited to a breach of the Terms. For example, if you violate our UGC rules, we might close your account.

If you wish to terminate your account, you may simply discontinue using the Services or contact us to request account deletion. All provisions of the Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive termination, including, without limitation, ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.

15. Miscellaneous Provisions

15.1. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court, the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain in effect. The invalid or unenforceable provision will be replaced by a valid, enforceable provision that most closely matches the intent of the original provision.

15.2. Entire Agreement
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and The Mac Genie LLC regarding our Services and supersede and replace any prior agreements, oral or otherwise, regarding the Services.

15.3. Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms, by operation of law or otherwise, without The Mac Genie LLC's prior written consent. Any attempt by you to assign or transfer these Terms, without such consent, will be null and void. The Mac Genie LLC may freely assign or transfer these Terms without restriction.
