About Ian Williams, The Mac Genie
Ian Williams grew up using a Commodore 64, and his introduction to Apple involved wrestling computer lab classmates to play Oregon Trail on an Apple IIe with a color monitor, not just with the green screen. Between gaming, helping his father use an early email client created in HyperCard on a Mac SE/30, and an early introduction to being online through the National Geographic Kids Network, he was hooked.
In middle school, he had a habit of being pulled from class to fix teachers’ computers since the school district had a single Mac technician at the time. In 2001, Ian began his formal career in tech, working QA for a Java-based shopping cart company followed by technical support and production studio work at an early interactive live-streaming platform while also consulting independently.
For over 30 years, Ian has been repairing the relationship people have with their most relied-upon technology both at home and at the office. Now, The Mac Genie LLC exists to fix issues and retrieve data the other techs can’t or won’t, while also providing the best guidance for your current and future technology needs.
Based in Henderson and serving the greater Las Vegas valley, I help clients who have more at stake than just a computer repair: creative professionals with decades of projects, families with years of photos, and small businesses with archives they still depend on. If the other places say it is out of their scope, The Mac Genie can work magic.
The Mac Genie LLC provides premium, appointment‑only service tailored to home users, studios, and select businesses. I offer in‑home and on‑site visits, careful handling of equipment, and clear communication at every step.
